Public Wi-Fi that needs a sign-in

Cafés, hotels, airports and trains often block everything until you log in.

These networks hold back all traffic until you accept their terms on a sign-in page, and a VPN cannot connect before that happens. Disconnect the VPN, open your browser and load any plain website — the sign-in page should appear. Complete it, confirm normal browsing works, and only then connect the VPN. If no page appears, forget the network on your device and join it again.
